As yet unbuilt, this project involves the conversion of a typical federation cottage into a modern family home. A tight site (less than350m2) meant that space has to be used very carefully.
The solution involves reconfiguring the kitchen/bathroom/laundry and building new accommodation comprising a family/dining room rear extension with the sense of space enhanced by full height glazing to the rear, to bring the outdoors in.
The design has to fit within a tight budget and allows for a further second story to be added as the family grows.
