A sensitive design was required for this project which involved the renovation of a family room, games room, hallways and outdoor entertaining areas in a heritage listed residence in Adelaide’s eastern suburbs.
The extension had been originally constructed in the 1980’s and needed updating, no longer meeting the needs of the current owner's more relaxed lifestyle.
The original shell was retained, pared back and opened up to provide more light and views of the pool. A new deck was installed at the same level as the main building and accessed via bifold doors. Timber floors were to installed throughout enabling the living spaces to flow from room to room. Colours and materials were chosen to emphasize the contemporary furnishings.
