A two storey home overlooking the sand and waves at Boomer Beach on SA’s South Coast. The brief was to achieve something spectacular befitting the site’s very special location, whilst respecting the original beach houses of the area.
A 3.3 metre high glazed curtain wall is cantilevered along the southern facade to take advantage of the site’s uninterrupted views and wide frontage. The natural stone fencing, limestone retaining walls and timber decking make reference to the original building materials of the area.
The house features water harvesting, the use of energy efficient materials, and careful orientation of windows and openings to bring in light and reduce heating and cooling demands.
